They have something so overpowered to the point where if played correctly they are unbeatable.

The only things Obito has is a transformation and a solid approach option, WJ, which is his only good move in base form. WJ alone isnt able to make Obito good. And even if Obito does have a transformation, the big pressense of infinifes and Kon easily prevent Obito from tranaforming.

His U is punishable once you learn the timing, since it does have some end lag even if it isn't a lot of end lag, so U > SJ is not really that good.

Obito isn't really good if you tey to use him in a standing stance and try to deal with attacks by hold s or parrying them. He is a character who can always use wj, both for saving energy(super fast) and for preparing surprise attacks on the enemy. As most long ranged attacks can not do harm to him and given that all counterattacks starting with s are no match for obito's wj + jj+su or simply wj + su, the only thing obito fears while pressing wj all the time is special character specailized counter attacks and temporary AOE attacks , for example itachi's wj and sj and aizen's wj and wu. Then, obito's u(+ sj) can easily parry these threats. These two techniques can help obito to survive till tranformation. After transformation, obito's su is great for both defending and attacking and the u(don't always press u like beginners) can catch undefended enemies off guard easily.

Although I am a fan of obito (obviously) and have not ever considered myself a top player, I really think that obito isn't that bad(D rank?) and many experienced players like to put obito along with aizen, kenshin and transformed bykuya who are ranked the highest of all.

Okay, so after some testing and finding new things I can see Obito be a little higher, but he still isn't that great.

I guess spamming WJ can work for filling your super meter but otherwise it's just predictable. If timed right you can Quiet step and makes the WJ attack come out leaving him punishable. It also loses to projectiles.
Again, U has a some end lag so you can avoid it. If he uses it against Aizen to get pass though WU or Itachi's SJ, they can punish Obito on time since those moves have very little end lag compared to Obito's U, so U > SJ is unreliable.

At first he may seem hard to counter, but after learning what does well against him, he isn't too hard to deal with (as most characters at least). Maybe D tier is too low for him, but I cannot see him any higher than C tier.
